I wonder, too. People who throw religious references like the above, thinking that the bible-speak is message-clarifying enough for anyone to get are clearly expressing some passion, which I appreciate, but out of touch with how others not of their tribe communicate.

Meanwhile, Mike, I'm glad to read that this site has sparked your interest enough to maybe have you click on the link here to get yourself a copy. I'd love to read your comments.

And Gatsby, it's more gratifying than you may know to read a posting like yours.

I'm a member of the above forum. I think someone was just calling your attention to the fact your website was mentioned in that thread.

The post was simply a copy paste from the mention given of your thoughts. The scripture referenced was part of his signature, so it looks like a sloppy job copy/pasting.

The thread is about "Nice Guys", etc. and problems people have dating. You're more than welcome to join in the conversation if you have the time and care to.

Thanks,
Mike

As for the previous comment, no offense taken as I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say here. I would like to reply substantively but don\'t know what to respond to in that the biblical references you make can be interpreted in many ways; it would make for better sharing of opinions and conversation in general if you would give a clear statement about your concerns regarding the quotes you took from the book. I would be happy to discuss them with you.

I can say that this is a book best read cover to cover; those who cherry-pick their way through it tend to find statements that can appear insensitive or sound offensive taken out of context -- and for some, admittedly, offense will be taken in context, as well. Anyway, quoting scripture without *your *intended context is not enough to get me to understand your issues with the text of Growing Balls.

Hello David,

It has been a long time since I took a look at your website for Growing Balls. It is still wonderful. I was just reacquainting myself with the content of this chapter "Worthwhile Women." As you might remember, I pitched a fit when I first read it a couple of years ago, because a part of me really doesn't like the black and white of "worthwhile" vs. "worthless" women. Still, as I re-read the content I am coming over to the dark side (just kidding). I am seeing more clearly from the young men's eyes I have in my teen groups and realize how important it is for them to get some plain talk about real things. I wish Growing Balls were a movie or fast paced video game, instead of a book with words on paper that have to be laboriously sounded out by kids who do not find that medium stimulating. Can you get on that for me? I need help with all these lost, clueless boys. There aren't that many intelligent male voices in their lives...but you already know that, don't you?

Visit my website sometime: www.ceeshelman.com
Thanks for this book.
